AuthorityMap is operated by Galaxy Market Online (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (registration number 2024/003905/07). We are the responsible party (data controller) for the personal information described here.

• Your email address, which you give us when you start a scan.
• The website address you scan, and the public content of up to 10 pages on that site, read the way a normal browser would read them.
• Technical information such as your IP address, used to prevent abuse and limit how many scans run at once.
• Payment details, when paid options open. Payments are handled by PayPal; we receive confirmation of payment, not your card or bank details.

• To run your scan, build your report and keep it available at its private link.
• To send you your report link and messages about your report or purchase.
• To send product news only if you agree to it. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and improve how scans work.

We process your information to provide the service you asked for, with your consent where it is needed (for example product news), and for our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable service. This follows South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run AuthorityMap, such as:

• hosting and database providers
• email delivery providers
• PayPal, for payments
• AI providers that help write article drafts (they receive your site's public content, not your email address)

Some of these providers are outside South Africa. When information moves across borders, we use providers bound by adequate data protection terms.

We keep reports and the email linked to them for 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time. Email [contact email] and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to South Africa's Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) or the data protection authority where you live.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. While you use the site, your browser temporarily stores the website and email you entered so the scan can start; this is cleared when you close the tab. If we add analytics later, we'll update this policy first.

AuthorityMap reads only publicly available pages, follows each site's robots.txt rules, and reads no more than 10 pages per scan. If you own a site and want us to stop scanning it, email [contact email].

If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
